What is a Hospitalist? Hospitalists are physicians who primarily focus on the medical care of hospitalized patients. Typically hospitalist physicians have completed Residency training in either Internal Medicine or Family Medicine. Because hospitalists generally spend most of their time seeing patients at the hospital, they are readily available to treat you and attend to your medical needs around the clock. As Hospitalists, our group of providers communicate closely with patient’s primary care providers to inform them when their patients have been admitted and discharged to the hospital.
